Most of the forest areas in the North of Argentina haven't been properly used during the last decades. Unsustainable logging and pasture management resulted in an extended degradation of the forests.

GMF integrates extended properties in the North of Argentina in a comprehensive forest management scheme as a sustainable and profitable timber utilization is inevitable for the long-term maintenance of the Argentine forests.

GMF is providing management structures based on European standards and the criteria and indicators of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). This results in a sustainable management and conservation of existing forests and a modification of devastative land use patterns.

Our access to international timber markets is enhancing the value creation of the areas. Within that framework, GMF is focusing on high-quality timber that is in particular exported to Europe .
