Area of distribution
Region of the Chaco in N- Argentina

Logs
Length to 2 m, average diameter: 40cm

Timber with mostly not visible growth rings, irregular grain, coarse to medium texture and greyish brown colour, darker then Algarrobo blanco. Algarrobo serves well for manufacturing purposes.
Staining and lacquering lead to good results. Algarrobo is perhaps the most dimensionally stable wood in the world.
Northwest Argentines traditional country style furniture is made of Algarrobo, surprisingly without any drying either in open air or kilns.
