Timber with mostly not visible growth rings, irregular grain, coarse to medium texture and greyish brown colour. Algarrobo serves well for manufacturing purposes. Staining and lacquering lead to good results. Algarrobo is perhaps the most dimensionally stable wood in the world.
Argentines traditional country style furniture is made of Algarrobo, surprisingly without any drying either in open air or kilns.
